Micro-Needling
Automated Micro-Needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT) is a relatively new concept aimed at stimulating the body’s own collagen and elastin production to tighten, lift and rejuvenate the skin. The treatment is also effective in reducing and/or improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, pore size, hyper and hypo pigmentation and scarring such as surgical and acne scars. During this procedure, the Eclipse MicroPen creates a series of predictable, controlled epidermal and dermal micro-injuries, thereby stimulating the body's immune response to produce new collagen and elastin.
Furthermore, automated Micro-Needling also creates superficial micro-channels which enhance the penetration of topical active ingredients. For instance, Hyaluronic Acid, peptides or collagen serum, can be used to hydrate and re-epithelialize the skin. Depending on what skin condition is being targeted, your medical skin care professional may also infuse anti-redness or anti-acne serums, lightening agents, and/or active growth factors to the needed depth. Needle depth can be adjusted precisely to ensure safe levels of dermal penetration. Cosmetic Fillers
JUVEDERM®
There are four forms of JUVÉDERM: JUVÉDERM Ultra , JUVÉDERM, Ultra Plus, JUVÉDERM Ultra XC and JUVÉDERM Ultra Plus XC. .
They are all FDA approved hyaluronic acid injectable fillers that replace lost volume and restore youthful contours to the skin by smoothing facial wrinkles and folds. The XC formulations of both products have added lidocaine, an anesthetic to make the injection more comfortable.
The difference between Ultra and Ultra Plus is that the Ultra Plus is a more robust formulation that is indicated for deeper and more severe facial wrinkles and folds such as nasolabial folds, whereas the Ultra, a finer molecule, does very well in enhancement of the lips or filling fine wrinkles.
While patients should expect correction to persist at least 9-12 months, this can vary from patient to patient.
JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC injectable gel is the first and only FDA-approved filler to correct age-related volume loss in the midface. With optimal treatment, natural-looking results can last up to 2 years.
